Charlie Adlard is Aspirational!
Friday 13th May, fittingly, saw the visit of Charlie Adlard, local comic book artist of The Walking Dead. 115 students signed up to hear Charlie interviewed by Mrs Hare about his lifelong dream of becoming a comic book artist, his early inspiration, his experience with the TV series The Walking Dead (based on his illustrations), and his Top Tips for budding creatives who’d love to turn their talent into a career.
As the 14th Aspirations Talk this year, Charlie was our busiest yet – and we celebrated by holding a Meet and Greet workshop after the Talk, where 57 students from Years 7-10 had the opportunity to come together, collaborate on art works, develop their skills AND get advice from someone at the top of their game. The buzz in the Learning Hub was wonderful, and our students were not only exceptionally well-behaved and incredibly polite, they’re also fantastically talented. Perhaps the next hugely successful comic book series and TV show spin-off was created today!
Huge thanks go to Mr Evans and Mrs Pankhurst for all their hard work to support the day and make sure our students got the absolute most out of such a special experience.
