PDC (Personal Development Curriculum)

The school runs a comprehensive course in PDC (Personal Development Curriculum), the aim of which is to assist pupils in coping successfully with their own physical and emotional development as well as to equip them with the skills they will require to become responsible members of society.

 PDC is taught, in tutor groups, throughout Key Stages 3 and 4. The programme of study follows the non-statutory guidelines outlined by the government and includes the following areas :-

In order to provide an engaging, stimulating and effective programme of study, we utilise the expertise of staff with specialist training as well as inviting outside agencies into school to deliver specific topic areas. You do have the right to exclude your child from Relationship and Sex Education lessons if you so choose.
